I specialize in acoustic guitar, bluegrass guitar and flatpicking guitar. My techniques are grounded by proven methods in jazz guitar and classical guitar. I will also teach classical techniques and jazz improvisation theories to more advanced students. Learning is the fun part of taking on an instrument. I teach students practice methods that are fun, and will display measured improvement. I teach lessons and hold group classes out of my home studio in Asheville, North Carolina.

I have been published in the Oregon Bluegrass Association’s award-winning magazine, The Bluegrass Express with my article 10 Ways To Take Your Picking To The Next Level.

Songwriting Magazine published my article about my songwriting techniques and writing away from your instrument.

Other qualifications include BA in music performance (classical guitar,) 5+ years of teaching experience, teaching at festivals including Wintergrass, OBA Pickers Fest, Wheeler County Bluegrass Festival, Bluegrass From The Forest, and more.

Advanced Guitar Lessons

Advanced Lessons

I offer advanced students advice on how to make their rhythm and lead playing more interesting and pleasing to the listener. I can give students tips for the studio, stage, producing and marketing their music.
